Last night during the heavy snow there was a post on a local facebook group requesting help and need for 4x4. A dog was unwell and needed to get to the vets. Few hours later a post came back saying dog had potentially life threatening amounts of potassium and sodium in his bloods which they think may have damaged the nerves. This was caused by the gritting (rock salt) that has been going on. Dog was on drip overnight, is now home but has to go back for regular blood checks over the next few days.
If you think any of the surfaces you have walked along have been salted please rinse your dogs feet with clean water after their walks.

Good advice caz2golden, makes me think of our cats out & about. But to be honest our roads aren't gritted - they're all small side roads/closes & then its green belt or should that be white belt!!!

yes good point, we sometimes use rock salt on the drive as it's got a bit of an incline.
