My poor girl was more poorly that anyone ever realised. When the vet started to do the necessary with her mouth he felt a swelling when he examined her, so did an X-ray. After seeing what he did he didn't bother with her mouth and just rang to tell us that she had a large tumor on her kidney. So it was kinder to just let her slip away and not wake her up. This must have been what was the real cause of what has been going on with her over the last few months, but other symptoms have masked it. I know that when we first took her about not eating properly the vet felt her kidneys then and didn't feel anything abnormal, and she did pick up after a slow release anti biotic injection. Then a loose tooth had to be taken out, and again nothing showed up. So as you can imagine to be told she had a tumor on her kidney was a bit of a shock. We were trying to work out how old she could have been, and the more we think about it she could have been as old as 13/14, We were privileged that she chose us, I'm really missing our feisty girl.
