Everyone meet Hermione & Bella This is Hermione This is Bella. Still both very much settling in but both ate & drank fine. Going to give them a week or so to settle in before introducing them to Letticia. Need 2 bits of advice, apparently Hermione is some kind of rare guinea pig due to her dalmatian coat...I'm not sure...but is there anyone out there clued up a bit more with breeds/types? Bella apparently is a bit more nervous & has apparently bitten on a few occasions but unsure of the circumstances around this so going to give her a bit of extra time, allow her to come to me before handling. Any advice on this area?

I know the basics on handling. I will just treat things like they aren't use to being handled at all take it back to the start so to speak. As for the types I've read & looked at a fair few but I'm just terrible at telling the difference to be fair as some are very similar lol

They are both lovely guinea pigs. I just googled Dalmatian guinea pigs as I'd never heard of it before and it states that they are very rare and that mating 2 Dalmatians can lead to a lethal white baby - had to google that to find out more. Interesting reading. It's as complicated as breeding cats to get the desired colours, especially if you want to end up with a Dalmatian colouring. I can't advise you about guineas pigs biting as luckily none of mine ever did.
