I had to take Bramble to the vets for her check up on Friday, 3 months after her procedures on her bladder to try to find out why she had blood in her urine. At the time the vet said her x-ray showed something on her kidneys and suggested 3-monthly check ups. The first thing the vet said when he saw Bramble that she had put on weight and looks well (she had lost weight last year). She was 4.7 kg last time and on Friday she has gone up to 5.22kg, which the vet was pleased with. He also said her bladder and kidneys feel okay at the moment. I need to get a urine sample taken for sampling as soon as I can.

Yes, good news. I just hope that when I get a urine sample it doesn't have blood in it or I'll be back to square 1.

That's great news just got to ask how are u going to get a sample i could do it but it would be mixed with litter but i couldnt imagine how i could get a clear one as cats dont like to be seen near a toilet good luck I was lucky enough to grab a small pot and when I saw Bramble get in position in the litter tray I just lifted her tail and stuck the pot under her - of course, I got some pee over me as well! I think she was too surprised to react to what I was doing. However, I am still waiting for the latest sample - I think she has cottoned on and is only using the litter tray when she goes out in the cat pen. I have to get a sample in the morning before I go to work to I can drop it off in the vets on my way. The sample mustn't be older than 6 hours.

Vet didn't phone me but it was a case of 'No news is good news'. I phoned the vet just now and Bramble's urine sample was clear, no blood, no infection and no crystals in it - so pleased! I have to stick to her 3-monthly check-up for the vet to feel her kidneys and test her urine.
