I'd like to kindly ask for your help I have created pet tags that you can see on the image below. I'm selling them in a few countries (of course with different flags etc.) focusing mainly on the UK, Poland and Germany. There is great customer response in Poland and Germany. However that's not the case in the UK. Most common remark is that dogs' name should not be put on the tag. I understand where it's coming from, so I made it possible for the UK customers to choose if the field is called "NAME" or "OWNER NAME". Moreover, all fields are optional. However, I think that most people abandon the website before becoming aware of these two things. Comparing to Poland and Germany, the interest is much lower in the UK and a much larger percentage of people close the website after seeing the main page only. I'm aware of the Control of Dogs Order 1992 which requires that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with a pet tag bearing the name and address of the owner. I wanted the tags to be fun and bring smiles and created them on an idea of identity cards for dogs, hence their appearance and more data. Could you please share with me your thoughts on how to adapt these tags to the expectations and tastes of UK customers? In return for your help, I will be happy to offer you a 25% discount. If you're interested, please use code "YOURPETFORUMS" on the shopping cart page.

You are trying to enter a market that is already well provided for here in UK.
When I look at the front page of website my first impression is that tag looks large! Looking at dimensions they are larger than I would personally want. I guess I like unobtrusive tags and also smaller they are the less likely to snag on anything!
For me the fact the tag is made of laminated card would be useless as my dogs like getting wet on walks. I like my tags to last, i.e durability is important.
I personally would not want to 'advertise' age and breed of dog on the basis of you are giving info to potential people who might steal your dog.
I also have multiple phone numbers on my tags.
Other than that they are a little different and I am sure some people will like them.

Thank you for your reply caz2golden, I really appreciate it! SIZE:I have two sizes and think that the small size (1.63" x 0.94" or 4,1cm x 2,4cm) fits even small dogs - small tags on yorkies. Although I agree that people some prefer even smaller tags. The problem might be in how they are showed on the website: - the tag on the dog is of big size (at the time of taking the picture there was only one size). I'll have to get a new photo.
- images of tags are big - I wanted to have them shown in details and have no idea how to improve on this.
DURABILITY:Perhaps I should rephrase it somehow on the website? The tags are durable and waterproof. We've had dogs: DATA:Keeping the amount of information at minimum seems to be the prevalent opinion in the UK. Pehaps some of the fields should be changed to carry different data? E.g. another phone number (although it can already be inserted in the "additional information" section), info that the dog is microchipped / neutered, something else?

Hi, i'm not in the market for any new tags at the moment, but I had a look at your website and I do like to look of them for the novelty value if nothing else. I agree with caz2golden with regard to some of the information given, but on the other hand I like your willingness to change the personal information about the dog and replacing with info saying the dog is chipped and maybe asking to be taken to the nearest vet to be IDed. The only other thing that would put me off buying one is the price. As I said earlier it would only be for novelty value for me and at that price it's a bit expensive. I wish you luck and I'm sure other people will love them.

I was not using the images as size guide but the dimensions on your website. Your tags are larger (even your small one) compared to the tags I have (and the ones I have are for a large dog). Considering I have name, full address, 2 of my numbers, name and number of alternative contact + more, I have more than the legal requirement and quite a lot of info really!!
I would now have to pay just over £7 to replace one of my dogs tags (I paid less when I got them). Must also add that the just over £7 I pay is probably the expensive end of the tag market here in UK and I could get a bog standard one for ~£4 (probably less if I tried). So your tags at £13.25 are expensive.
How many years do you guarantee they will be waterproof for? How many years do your tags last?
Reason I ask these questions is one of durability. The tags I use I know from personal experience are still going after 10+ yrs of continuous use (family member uses same one).

I like the idea of the ID cards that are shown on your website. Those could be very handy to keep in a purse in case of an accident or something that will let people know there are potentially pets home alone.
However, the tags, like the others have pointed out, are a little big for my liking. One other point is that I've had keyrings that are similar to these tags and have found that the laminated layer comes away after a while, leaving the picture/information underneath to fade or be scratched away. Can you guarantee that this won't happen with your tags?

Thank you all for your invaluable input!cazypops , I am willing to change everything if needed . It's not my taste that matters, it's what is best for UK customers cazypops , caz2golden , regarding the price, I will frankly admit that it's a result of my main marketing idea which is to use Google AdWords and offer a 25% discount to have the final price just below £10. Please also bear in mind that shipping is free / included in the price. Additionally, if you buy at least 2 products, we send additional copy of each ordered tag for free (which is highlighted in the ads landing page - safepet.eu/gb/special-offer). This can be used for additional collars or kept for future use. caz2golden , you're right, my tags won't last 10 years. orpheous87 , great point regarding the Pet Wallet ID Cards. I see this reasoning both in the UK and US. Regarding the size though, looking at the picture of Pepper & Ellie, it looks to me like the tags you have now aren't any smaller. Here's how mine look on yorkies: www.facebook.com/SafePet.eu/photos/pb.342796179221841.-2207520000.1452209002./483811668453624/?type=3&theater. As an additional point, some of my customers have mentioned that they like that these tags are light and do not jingle. orpheous87 , regarding the laminate, you're right, it is possible. However, there are two things that help my customers: - if a tag gets damaged within 6 month, I send an identical copy for just the cost of shipping (in case of UK it is £3), - above-mentioned possibility to receive 2 copies of ordered tags. I guess the question is: "IS THERE A MARKET IN THE UK FOR PET TAGS THAT APART FROM BEING TAGS, ARE CUTE AND A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE GADGETS?" Here in Poland they sell rather good, in Germany not bad as well and I know that in US there are a few companies manufacturing similar tags which are selling there like crazy (at a cost of $15-$23)!

The tags that Pepper & Ellie wear are 30mm diameter but they look larger because they're not attached directly to the collar. They're attached to an eZeClip for ease of changing collars. They also wear 3 tags each, which doesn't help them look smaller. And if I'm honest, I quite like them jingling - if they don't jingle, it's too easy for them to sneak up on us!
That's good that you offer a free replacement if the tag is damaged within 6 months.

My dogs wear very small gilt tubes on their collars. The info required by law is written on a piece of paper inside the tube. Although the tubes are not guaranteed against anything, we've had them for a long time and the info is still perfectly legible after exposure to the elements, one dog swimming, the tubes being washed in the washing machine when I forget to remove them from the collars. These tubes cost about £1 each and are available from most pet shops. So I am not in the market for your kind of tags. Anyway, to me the tags don't look cute, more like official and officious id cards, something that we in the UK are opposed to. The price wouldn't be a problem for me if it was something that I liked and wanted. I am glad to hear that other nations have different opinions and good luck in your enterprise.

Are you a pet owner who is preparing to move to another place with the pets? While searching for a pet shipper company, you should also give a few thought to how you are going to deal with your pet during your move.

There was just too much happening in my life, too much pain and sorrow, I think I'm over most of it.
The littl'un is called Indy, a rescue Chihuahua. Came along needing home, when I was needing a dog.
