We're taking Carlotta to be put down in the morning. She's not getting better, she's hardly eating and she's lying in that lotus position all the time like her stomach hurts, she looks terrible. Very sad of course but will feel much much worse tomorrow. We're spending tonight sleeping on the couch in the living room as she's been there all day and hasn't left the living room since we got her home. RIP my darling xxx

I'm so sorry it has come to this, we all really hoped she would have a lot longer with you, but as migsy says the last act of kindness we can do for our beloved pets is to let them go.
We're all here for you. Sending you and your man massive {{HUGS}}

Sorry to hear that you have to make that final decision for Carlotta smilesbetter. Its always difficult to know when enough's enough but she will thank you for her release. As Migsy said the last & hardest choice but the kindest. Thinking of you all but especially for Carlotta.

So sorry that Carlotta didn't have a bit longer with you but like some of us have said, you know when it's time. Your last act of kindness for her. She really was a beautiful cat and has had a lovely life with you and I'm sure you have lovely memories of her.
R.I.P. Carlotta xx

Well, that's it done now. Thanks so much for your support guys, it's so nice to know there's people who really understand. She's actually the reason I joined this forum in the first place.
She spent last night snuggled up with me, and when we got to the vets they let us go into another room to spend some time with her as they went through the other appointments. While we were in the room she kept face rubbing me and wiping her slobber on my glasses like she always does when I'm upset, she knows it makes me laugh every time!
It was the vet who loves cats, he even remarked on how beautiful her eyes were as she was falling asleep. The vets are sending her body away to a company today who will cremate her and sprinkle the ashes on a nice field they have, which is lovely I suppose. The vet let us leave through the back door so we didn't have to go out through the waiting room, which was also really nice, so my man and I were able to stand out the back and have a big cry before facing the world. I'm glad I have so many photos and videos of her, more than I have of anything else.
Awch, it sucks without her! She was one of a kind!

You have done the kindest thing. Carlotta is now out of pain and at peace.
Take comfort in all your memories of her, and I'm sure that Rosa and Mieze will help you both get through this sad time.

I'm so glad it was the vet that likes cats - it must have made such a difference when your last minutes with Carlotta were with a sensitive and caring vet.
Thinking of you xx

Take me to where my needs they'll tend, Only, stay with me till the end. And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree It is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail its last has waved, From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must now be you Who has to decide this thing to do. We've been so close - we two -these years, Don't let your heart hold any tears.

I am not a person who weeps easily smilesbetter,but it seems Carlotta was trying to comfort you,how touching and very sweet it brought a tear to my eyes.Also the kindness and thoughtfulness of your vet.Kindness costs nothing,but what a difference a kind word or deed can make to someone else.R.I.P.Carlotta.
