Awww poor wee man (((HUGS))) Hopefully the leg WILL have healed enough to have those pins out and a bit more cage rest will be enough to finish off the treatment. It's amazing just how quickly they accept their situation and lie quietly in their crate Not long now Ringo Everything crossed for you all (((HUGS)))

Hope all went well at the vets today, and he's now back with you all snug in his cage, minus the pins.

Glad to hear Ringo is being such a good patient boy & hope that his good behaviour is rewarded with his leg having healed well enough to have the pins out & hence his wound can heal properly. Fingers crossed all went well at the vets J1M

Thank you all for your good wishes for Ringo. He had his pins out yesterday and the wound around the bottom one was cleaned and stapled with just a bit at the bottom left open to drain. Andrei said the problem was that Ringo grew much more than he had alloowed for, Ringo doesnt need to be caged any more but we are still putting him in at night or if everyone is out, until the staples are removed in a week or so. he is running around the room playing with his toys like he always has now, and jumping on anything he can. Jim will be putting some pics up later so all can see the improvement. Its so nice to see him playing and running about again although i dont miss the biting and scratching lol.

Pets I own: Have always had cats as far as I can remember. Currently the owners of a Tabby kitten called "Ringo". He was born Weds 29/04/2015 & we got him Thursday 18/06/2015. He's just over 3 months old at time of writing. He is light grey with black Tiger stripes & he has black rings around his tail & back legs, hence the name "Ringo". Nothing to do at all about The Beatles. Now he has started to develop a beigey colour in his coat, & in some photos & different light, for some reason seems to have a slight orangey/ginger colour.
He's a right character, always friendly & loving & happy to see us, always following us around the house, always charging around & playing with his toys & stalking anything that moves, & then when he gets tired, jumps up for a fuss. Couldn't ask for a better cat. He's perrrfect.

It's so nice to see Ringo without his pins now, & his wounds look so much better. We've asked Toachim House to send us a copy of the latest xrays to see how his leg looks now on the inside. The pin hole up on Ringo's hip you can hardly see at all, so that shouldn't take long to heal at all. You can still just about see a slight bald spot where the clamp rubbed on him a few weeks ago. The pic below is where Ringo's huge wound was before surgery. It now looks so much better, not infected & not angry looking. Now we can look at it without feeling ill. You can just about see the staples holding it together. Andrei said he was leaving a hole to allow the wound to drain. I think he had no choice as the wound was in my eyes huge & there wasn't enough skin left to staple together properly. Ringo's asleep in his cage at the moment, for some reason, he's down by the door instead of sleeping on his bed. I decided it was in Ringo's best interest to limit his "freedom" until his wound is at least closed. At one point, after he had a play with some of his toys, I looked at his wound & it looked a bit red, so I decided to put him in his cage so he could calm down a bit & relax for a while. I don't want him over doing it &, god forbid, he rips out one or two of his staples. I know Andrei said Ringo only needs house rest & doesn't need to take his Trazodone or Metacam, but, in Ringo's case, we might need to have a rethink. Ringo has always, since he could walk, always been an active & playful kitten. The people we got Ringo from is our eldest son & his family, so we got to see our Ringo from the beginning. He was always the most dominant of the litter of 6, he was always getting in to mischief because of his curiosity & he just always wanted & still always wants to play. To help his wounds heal, we might have to ask Andrei about keep giving Ringo his Trazodone to help calm him down, or keep him under about 75% cage rest still. Luckily, so far, we haven't needed to put his collar back on him. Again, just like when he 1st had his pins put in, he seems to be leaving his staples alone & ignoring them. At the 1st sign of him nibbling on them, the collar goes back on. I have to admit though, it was really nice seeing him charging about with his toys again & I had a beaming smile all the time I was watching him. We've only let him play with his ground toys at the moment like his Kong soft toys & his balls. We won't play with him with his Flying Frenzy & other ones like that we've got because they encourage jumping, & again, we don't want him to rip out his staples. As soon as Ringo has had his staples out, I shall put up up his Cat Tree he's got & get his Tunnel back out & life will be at last back to normal.

OH that is good news, you'll all be happier now his pins are out, just a case of waiting for the wounds to heal Hope Ringo settles & doesn't need the cone & that he heals quickly. That wound does look horrible but clean so should heal well

Glad that he is recovering so well and I hope it heals up fast so that he can get back to being a normal kitten - he has a lot to make up for now too!

So pleased that Ringo has now had the pins removed and he can get back to living the life of a normal kitten. I wonder if this has calmed him down a bit?

It's so nice to see Ringo playing & charging around the front room again. We are mainly keeping him in his cage during the day because, where he has always been so highly strung, it's for the best while he has his staples in. The past few days, in the evening, we've let him out in the living room for a couple of hours. All the time I'm keeping an eye on his wound just to make sure he doesn't over doing it. As his wound heals, we can let him out for longer periods but at the moment, he's loving the freedom being able to play again, we are loving it to lol. He's got so much pent up play aggression built up in him over the last 7-8 weeks. I think the funniest thing he's doing at the moment is, hiding behind the arm chair or sofa stalking us. When one of us walks past, he runs out, jumps a couple of foot up in front of us doing a spread eagled star jump & then runs off & kills one of his toys. It's hilarious at times just to see a spread eagled cat in mid air with a smile on his face.

We have taken Ringo to our local vet & he has had his staples out. His wound has opened up a little & still looks a bit deep but we have been told to still keep him caged for the next 2 weeks for it to heal up. We still have to give him his Veraflox antibiotic & his Metacam & we have to keep his cone on him. Ringo's not impressed having to have his cone on, but it's for his own good. He's been really good leaving his pins & wound alone but the vet doesn't want to risk him licking his wound & hindering the healing process. We thought we would be able to get back to some sort of normality but at least the end is getting nearer. Sometimes it seems like this will never end & constantly ongoing. We really can't wait till all this is over. We just want our playful & loving kitten back.

OH boy, that is a mixture of news & those pictures tell it all. Good news that the staples are now out & the wound is looking good, bad news from Ringo's perspective is that its still 2 more weeks of cage rest, meds & cone - his face really expresses his opinion of that! Just you wait Ringo you'll be as good as new shortly & with even more energy to terrorise your human servants.

Just you wait Ringo you'll be as good as new shortly & with even more energy to terrorise your human servants. Just in time for Christmas!!! I hope you got some bungee ropes to fasten the tree to the wall otherwise I think a Certain Wee Man will have a LOT of fun Not forgetting glass baubles either....last thing you need is him cutting his paw and needing MORE cage rest and *ouch* treatment
