Was back at the vets today & Penny's now nicely hydrated so he signed her off the bland diet, suggested giving her a high fibre food & possibly some Katalax for her hairballs (mind you the ones this week I think were the result of loose fur from her neck being shaved last Friday, you should have seen the mass of hair around the house - looked more like long hair than her short coat but was more full of air than her usual clumps) She's to continue the tablets until they're finished. She's got 4 more days (including today) of the Periactin & 6 more of the Zitac. When I got her home she had breakfast which was her measured dry (JWB Senior) & I decided to give her half a pouch of Felix Sauce Sensations (Lexie has half each meal so just the other half of hers) . Normally she gets a third of a pouch as that was the amount when she needed to maintain her weight (after her diet), now she needs to build it back up again. She was very happy & didn't come searching for Roman's food or treats. In fact all the dried has now gone, all the gravy & some of the meat! Much more than she was eating before. She managed to get to the vets (& back) with nothing worse than some drool. Must have been the Fairport Convention CD that stopped the rest of her normal travel sickness She was even kind to the vet when he checked whether one of her paws had been missed last week for claw clipping. Well she did grumble & lash once & he definitely flinched back but then she let me have a look (wonders will never cease) & then the vet was able to clip those claws - they had been missed, the other 3 were fine! Now at least my thigh will stop looking like a pin-cushion or give people the idea that I might be self-harming! She comes to the toilet with me & then paws my leg! Oh & she likes Malt paste

Glad that the vet is happy with her progress. I bet she really enjoyed her first meal.

She certainly did enjoy her meal, in fact her bowl was completely empty by teatime! She happily had malt paste mixed with dreamies, crushed tablet & Loxicom this evening & had tucked into her tea.
Oh & I caught her investigating Lexie's feeder in the afternoon (of course it wouldn't open for her) so she's back on scrounge form will need to watch she doesn't put on too much weight, I don't want to have to put her on a diet again, she's been stable at 4Kg (or below) for at least a couple of years now.
