Well a friend at work was saying yesterday that it's a great digestive aid and helps to breakdown fur balls. I wanted to ask if anyone else has had positive experiences of it?

Mieze eats cat grass every day and is never sick, she loves it! She uses it when she is expecting food but is having to wait, and instead of having to vomit the excess stomach acid, she eats cat grass and that seems to help. She only ever has fur balls when there hasn't been any cat grass in the house too, although I don't know if that's just by chance or not. My other cat Carlotta doesn't ever eat it though but seems to use cardboard for the stomach acid thing which admittedly does seem to work too.

I know that our cats do deliberately eat grass in the garden every so often, particularly Penny who also suffers with hairballs, not that it seems to stop them but our indoor cat grass (mainly for Penny) currently needs a water & replinish so that could be why. Not sure its a remedy or an aid to vomiting as we will often see just patches of phelgm & grass. However eating grass is something the cats tend to do of their own volition & is usually associated with hairballs or off food etc so we always try to have some cat grass on the go for Penny who doesn't go out so much these days or if we have to keep cats in.
So I'd say slightly positive but to be honest it doesn't need to be cat grass as such any grass would do. Ajax digs up some ordinary grass from the garden for pots in the cat run.

I think Toni is right and any grass will do. I don't have grass in the garden, so I buy it at a garden centre. So far mine don't have hair balls.

Elly - what a beautiful and colourful picture. Is it recent or last years?

Cia, the day before yesterday. You're early. Here it is an hour later as you know. I didn't expect someone on the forum yet.

Awwww froggies!!!
I always had a pot of cat grass on the go when Lily & Chilli were indoor cats but now they go outside I don't bother. Or, rather, I didn't untilo the other day when Hattie was on her daily constitutional with me in the courttyard and she was trying to nibble at greenery in my pots. I still had some cat grass seeds in a packet on the kitchen window so planted them up strraight away and they're just starting to sprout on our sunny living room window this morning.

Looks like the 2 Ts are enjoying the grass together dutchkitties, great pictures, luckily we've only seen a frog once or twice in our garden as if we had them more frequently they'd be brought in as well as rodents by Osiris!

Thanks for everyone's comments, I have bought a tub so we shall see what happens. Georgia often nibbles grass so I guess she needs more help with her digestion. Ruppee must have a cast iron stomach as I've never seen him eat any. Dutchkittens what a great photo of your cats!!!
