Hello,
I'm wanting to change Carlotta and Mieze's diet. We are planning to move them to raw, but want to move to a food with higher meat content first. I've been recommended Bozita which has over 90% meat in it, but wondered if anyone here has tried it or if they know of any wet cat food which has higher meat content/ is better/ would be a good starting point for a raw transition. I've also been considering trying a dry food for "treats" as Carlotta used to love finding hidden cat food around the flat, it's just that dry food makes her sick (not so often when scattered). I suspect she has a problem with grains. She only eats wet, but at the moment it's some rubbish my man got in the supermarket while I was in Scotland. She was okay for a bit but has started being sick every night. For a change, the sick is close after eating and is whole chunks of food which she then eats (on the last food she was sick over ten hours after eating and it was up digested food, astoundingly).
We have had an allergy test done and she apparently doesn't have any allergies (although I'm not my vets biggest fan so not overly trusting of him), but I think that at the very least, the grains are slowing down her digestive system and causing issues. So a higher meat content, preferable grain free wet meat and dry food are in order. The dry would be used only as ways to keep her active and get her using her mind a bit more during the summer, I worry that as an indoor cat she'll and up going completely mad otherwise.
Mieze is a lot more tolerant of food than Carlotta, but is not losing much weight and I feel a less grainy food might help her to shift the pounds.
Oh, and I can order from Zooplus.de which I think has the same product range as the UK version (it's a German company and I know they source most of their stuff from here anyway).
I want to move them onto raw eventually so if there is a cat food which has more of by meaty taste, that would be great. The stuff they currently eat hardly even looks like meat any more haha.
