Pets I own: Rosie a Maine Coon, Red and Cream.Aged 4 year in (May2014), a BIG quiet girl, and TiaMaria a Black Russian years on (Nov 2013) who is amazing fun.
Sadly Tia was killed in July 2014 by a car.
My son has Parkinsons and lives 2 miles from me. I got him RILEY a black stray 2year old in February 2014, but from a rescue 14 months ago.Very involved with him !
Pebbles age unknown, thrown out of a car, went to my daughter. Also involved with him ! ALL are adorable and so different.
Now (OCT 2014) have a kitten called Lilyana. She looks like her Mum, a Russian Blue. Her Dad is a Rag Doll. She was born on 24/07/2014....the day my darling Tia was killed on the road.
This was meant to be and she is helping me grieve for Tia. Lilyana is delightful.Rosie is now taking to her

My Tia was hit by a car and killed instantly in late morning. To say I loved her does not cover it. I utterly adored her. I have Rosie too and love her but Tia was my world. I wish I had loved them evenly but I could not help it. She was such an adoring, happy little cat. She had to be allowed out. She Adored the world and her freedom to wander. She never went far, just 2 or 3 hundred yards. We were bonded like twins. She understood more than any cat I have had in 40 years. She was just 3 years and 8 months old. Queen of Cuddles, lover of games, chaser of Rosie. I took her to the vet to have her chip checked, but I knew it was her. I brought her home and sat with her for hours, crying, sobbing, howling. Talking to her. Thanking her for her love, friendship and endless purrs. I am glad the sun was shinning today. I am glad she had wandered in and out all morning. I am so, so grateful to have known her. What will Rosie and I do without her ? I had her lying in the travel basket with the top off. Rosie eventually came in and over to her, sniffed her then quietly walked away. I think she knows. Does she know ? She has come and layen on the bed beside me. I am sure she knows I am in such pain. I live alone and am 70 years. My daughter, her partner and my son came over for 2 hours. I tried to sleep but just kept crying. I remember random words from a Wordsworth poem. They keep going round in my head,,,,,
"Few people knew that Tia lived, Or when she ceased to be, but she is lying in her grave, and OH the difference is to me."
Please don't say anything to me about letting her out.

So sorry to hear about Tia, what a horrible thing to happen and to such a young cat. Glad that at least she died quickly and didn't have to suffer any, sounds like she had a wonderful life as short as it was. That's lovely of Rosie to come and cuddle you, hopefully she'll look after you and do her best to keep your spirits up. Rip Tia.

Oh bless you tiarosie, that is too sad for words, and the reason I couldn't own a cat anymore. It upsets me to see a cat that has been killed by a car, knowing such heartbreak is in store for some poor soul. Anyone whose pet has died in whatever circumstances will know how you are feeling, the pain is so unbearable. You will stop crying, and in time will remember the happy times you were blessed with. Rosie will know Tia has passed away,it is the best thing to do so she won't be looking for her and pining. Whatever we say to you can't heal your pain Tiarosie, but please know our hearts are with you.

Please don't say anything to me about letting her out. Forgot to say... we are not like that on here we are here to comfort not to condem. Tia died doing what she loved to do, she was out in the sunshine free to roam. ( sorry crying here ) that's all I can say really thru the tears . My thoughts are with you at this sad time tiarosie

So sorry to hear about Tia, tiarosie. Tears are rolling down my face as I type. From everything you've said on this thread, & in others, she had a wonderful life with you & Rosie and, sad though it is, she died doing what she loved - being outdoors. I know you've had a number of cats over the years but its amazing how one makes that special bond. Feel free to talk about Tia on here whenever you want or just talk. Take care. RIP Tia

So sorry to read about the loss of Tia. We lost our 4 cats one after the other due to cat flu this was many years ago. It is only just 2 years ago that we decided to have the boys Sooty and Sweep they are brothers.
Remember all the good times you shared.

Thank you all. I need your loving kindnesses just now. It helps to talk to people who REALLY understand. I am up to tears and cornflakes ! Because I really wailed for so long yesterday, I think I have frightened Rosie.Poor love, she knows the house is laden with grief. She has had a long drink from the tap then gone out into the sunny garden. When my son comes over later I will scan my favourite photo on with his help. Where do I send it again scallywag ?
I hate to admit it but I did not feel so devestated when my Dad and adored uncle died 5 years ago. I got Tia and Rosie to fill the gap they left in my life. I had cared for both of them and needed to give love and receiving it in spades was wonderful. My second son, his wife and my only grandchildren had gone to Australia so my world had suddenly emptied. I opened my Kindle last night and found a little black hair on the page, which I kept there. Another on my laptop this morning and one in the water bowl. She will have left them everywhere ! I like that.
With a heavy heart I go to face the day. Thank you for being there.

Reading your post I have a lump in my throat. It's so moving. A terrible loss. The older we are (I'm almost 78) the hardest it is to accept losses. And Tia being so special to you. I'm very, very sorry. Take care. RIP Tia.

I am so sorry to read this sad news and my heart goes out to you. I know that you had a special bond with Tia and will miss her so much - yours for such a short time on this earth, but in your heart forever. I can sense your pain as I had an 8 month old kitten killed in the same way and the shock and sorrow is awful to bear.
RIP Tia xx

My heart goes out to you. I have to agree the loss of dearly loved pet left me totally devasted as i knew it would. The important thing to do, is to grieve, cry your heart out - i did. For every tear you shed, this is a reminder of how much Tia meant to you - and her to you. I bet she was spoilt rotten and rightly so. Take care
