The thread 'Neutering Campaign' got me thinking, and made me want to ask if your dog/bitch is spayed/neutered or not.
Earl was neutered at the earliest date possible because my parents knew he was my companion not a stud. We waited until it was healthy to have the snip done with Earl.

My oldest dog Aztec was neutered at the earliest age possible - at the time we still had his mother and he was after her all the time! Kobi, my 3 year old dog was also neutered at the earliest age possible as we thought it might calm him down a bit - we wish!

Jess was spayed in Spain, so after one week of having her she had to have the stitches removed

Holly has just been neutered (on Wednesday) as she has just turned 6 months old. It is soooo hard to stop her from running about, trying to keep her calm is such a challenge! She keeps leaping on and off the sofa......
We decided to neuter Holly as we are getting a Cavalier puppy in a few weeks, who may be a boy, and also for her health.
Amber is not neutered, as she may have puppies in the future, because she had such good hip scores 2/2 = 4 as the average for the breed is 16 and the worst is 106 a hip score of 4 is very good. She was also the pick of her litter, who the breeder was going to keep, but as her sister need surgery for a health problem he kept her. Apparently from the few shows she's been to she is a good example of her breed. So she will probably have a litter......
All the assistance puppies are neutered, so Bramble will be too at six months.

When its a bitch it is spayed not neutered, AA I read from Amber's blog that she is 2 years? That's a good age to be having thoughts about her breeding as its not going to happen today is it, really.

Sorry, meant to say spaying, I know!! Anyway, yes, we are thinking about Amber because she is now 2. We want her to have a litter sooner rather than later, so she can then be spayed. But it is quite complicated to work it all out.....and if we can cope with a litter of puppies at the moment!! Although it will be in the next year or at the most two if we are going to do it.

Bernie will be shown and used as a stud by the breeder... so no, he is obviously not going to be neutered.

Not fair to only be allowed to choose 2 answers. I have three dogs! Todd is neutered, Lucy is spayed, and Katy is not. Todd and Lucy were done before I got them. Katy will be done in the Summer as I look after various dogs, some are not neutered, and its just easier if she's done. Plus, seasons are horrid!

Neutered can be used of either sex. Castrated is specifically male, spayed is specifically female. But neutered refers to both. Oscar is neutered. Was done when he was 1.

That is actually incorrect Border Terrier. Neutering is a generic non sex specific term which can apply to either males or females. If you wish to be sex specific then it is: spaying for bitches castration for dogs HTH

My dog is entire and he would only be neutered for medical reasons.
