Took Penny to the vet nurses to get nails clipped & her weight & microchip position checked (due to problems encountered mentioned in my follow up to what a cheek thread). Nails clipped in minutes and the best news of all she is now 4Kg her target weight I'll still keep her on the diet food & quantities for the moment & make sure that she doesn't put on the weight yet again. the vet has historically said she probably could go down a bit more but I'll wait until we next see the vet to check if we should get her down further. If she does need to go down further we will need to reduce her Loxicom but less weight could help her arthritis. I must admit she occasionally, seems quite active again in small bursts. Especially if playing hunt the treat - her treats are 10 pieces of JWB or RC from Roman/Lexie's bowl! We put a piece on each of the 5 platforms of the climber (the one we got as it has small height differences between platforms) then a couple along the windowsill & a couple on the top of the fat scratchpost cum climber. It's Penny's assault course .

She had 1/5 th of her weight to lose, I could do with losing that (or more) ! Oh that's great news Toni. Well done you! I think that should be well done Penny

Penny is a star. Is her chip still in place? Thanks Elly, she is Yes the chip is in place, although on the side of her neck (which doens't make a difference to the flap) & with some help from the manufacturers its all sorted. We now know all the cats can use the flap successfully.

That's great! Yes I'm a dog person! But I encountered the same problem with my dog, Earl. We put him on a diet because he was getting a little bigger, and we got success from the diet!

Yes it is great news and well done Penny but I said well done you Toni because you deserve praise too Toni you got her to that weight. Blush, blush! Thank you. Unfortunately I'm also probably the one who let her get up to that weight this time. The first time she was eating the others' food while we were at work but after going on a diet then we've fed them where she can't get it. So the subsequent increase in weight again means we relaxed after she'd lost the weight & not got it quite right!
