I've managed to find an alternative for Kiba-Khan's Peridale which is similar and the best I can describe it, it's better than nothing. I just hope that the Peridale will be manufactured again soon. Update on the Peridale capsules for Kiba-Khan's constipation problem - the manufacturers had given September as the date for them to be back for sale. It's now 23rd of October so I telephoned and they said they are still not manufacturing them and gave no reason. Kiba-Khan's breeder advised buying Royal Canin Fibre Response and then stopping the lactulose. I bought the Royal Canin and give him some on top of his wet food but I don't feel confident enough to stop the daily lactulose as he still doesn't go every day. I also bought Logic Firm and put this on his morning feed. He is okay on this combination of things to help him. The Logic Firm is approx. Β£11 for a tube that lasts around 21 weeks, so that's Β£22 per month, whereas the Peridale Capsules were available for Β£18 for a 3 months supply. I am taking Kiba-Khan to the vets for his check up and booster next month so will ask the vet if I'm doing the right thing.

Have vets said why he has a toilet problem I was chatting a lady today her cat had a shall we say an overactive digestive system twas the food she was feeding gravy food everything ok on a mix of dry and jelly cats a have a easy upset system Kiba-Khan has suffered with constipation since I had him as a kitten. He had a big round tummy and I went to the vet and he gave me lactulose for him as he was constipated. When I contacted his breeder she laughed and said he only seemed to eat dried food and this is what started it off. The problem just escalated from there and he's always been on a daily lactulose dose and once when he just couldn't go to the toilet he was put on the Peridale capsules. His problem is that he wants to go but needs something to help bulk it up to be able to pass it. He has on one occasion had to have an enema as he's developed what is called 'mega colon', where the colon has stretched from over straining, which is why he needs the Peridale capsules. Mega colon does not get better and it is in Kiba-Khan's best interest not to have another enema.
