lotsofcats, have you thought of trying cold tea? Flirty had a sticky eye a few weeks back and that was what the vet told me to try, and if it didn't work then to take him in, but it worked so no vet visit was needed. I was trying cold tea for a couple of days before I took him to the vet. I've only got a bit of contact lens solution left so I will go back to the cold tea and try that again. If it doesn't help it's back to the vet again.

Tried to get an after work appointment for Kiba-Khan for this evening or tomorrow early morning/evening but earliest I can get is Thursday 9am so I'll have to ask my boss if I can be late for work! I was hoping the vets could squeeze him in earlier as his eye getting worse. I'll just keep bathing it until Thursday.

Been to the vet with Kiba-Khan - he's got to have an operation on Friday next week. The vet said that as Kiba-Khan is getting older (he's 12) the eyes sink in a bit and this has caused his bottom eyelashes to curl up and they are rubbing against his eyeball, causing his eyes to water and then get infected. The vet is going to cut below Kiba-Khan's eye lashes and remove a strip of tissue and when he stitches it back together it should pull the bottom eyelashes away from the eyeball. He's having a face lift!! I didn't think to ask if he would be doing the other eye as well as that one was also weeping to start with.
When I got home with Kiba-Khan hubby was just letting Toffee back out in the garden. I got Kiba-Khan out of his carrier and opened the back door to take him out to the pen and noticed Toffee had a baby pigeon in his mouth! I threw poor Kiba-Khan into the cat pen and managed to grab Toffee and he let the bird go. I put Toffee back in the house and put the bird on top of Toffee's outside house and it flew away - luckily it seemed okay. Naughty Toffee!! I don't know how he caught it so quickly, he'd only been out a matter of seconds.
