How long do your wslks last? On or off leash? Do you walf in the same place each day?
Do you do any activites with your dog?
Just a little fun thread, and my first poll!!
Oscar gets walked twice daily except for weekends when he can get 3 walks. On average walks last from 1 to 2 hours and are usually off leash, or a mixture of on and off leash. We walk in a variety of fields, mainly the same ones on week days, on weekends we mix it up a little. Scentwork is currenlt the only activity we do and is done a few days of the week, not too much though.
How about you?

It depedns on what legnth walk we do and how much time we have if we have organised something - like told someone we will meet them at --am on ----day.
I think you understand that, so I can't say the legnth of time because it varies.
Mostly on lead, sometimes off on the fields.
We do agility, heelwork and sometimes home scent work.
Godd poll and thread by the way Bextull!

Bryn has one or two walks per day, depending on distance involved. Some are over the same routes. We live in an area with lots of open hill country, and the Offa's Dyke path, and there are very many opportunties for long, interesting walks. We aim to give him at least 50% of each walk off-lead; often it is much more. Walks vary from about two miles, up to ten or twelve. We use an extending lead to give him as much freedom as possible but with safety where there is livestock, or potentially dangerous cliffs etc.. We usually take Bryn's ball with us and he will have LOTS of fun chasing it, probably one session of about 10 or 15 minutes per walk. We usually play some sort of game, hide and seek, or recall polishing. Bryn has a mania for water and we often arrange to pass ponds, streams or rivers where he can indulge his passion (regardless of the weather!). His enthusiasm for water is extremely useful for cleaning him up!

I always wonder this about other people but never think to ask. Jasper usually gets one longer (1-1.5 hour) walk a day on my days off which is mostly off lead running. But we're trying to up one day a week to a much longer walk. During the week he is walked before work. This might be a 30-45 minute on lead walk round the village or a romp through the fields. He is then walked back from work which is about 10 minutes. On Sundays we often go to a nature reserve near my boyfriends house and again are out for between 1-1.5 hours (depending on how much Glen complains lol) We also usually have one day a week where we won't go out at all so if he has to be rested then it's not as hard on him. He also quite enjoys just having a duvet day. I'd like to get him out more but I'm the only one who'll walk him so balancing walking, training with working, uni and general life sometimes makes time a bit sparse. I also don't want to overdo him with him due to him possibly developing arthritis. I'd like to take him further afield for more exciting walks but after what happened with Buddy I'm a bit less sure of going to new places, as well as not having anyone to walk with. We have about 9 or 10 walks that we take regularly, usually around farm tracks and we tend to mix it up to keep him stimulated. He likes to sniff so its nice to give him some time to check his new wee-mails And we don't do any activities but are looking at RallyO and we do trick training regularly.

They are always off leash. Because I travel for work, walks occur all over the country. In addition to walks swimming trotting beside the bike core strengthening/balance exercises tracking retrieves Activities: TD Scentwork, Working Trials, IPO (although the dog is "retired" from competition now) we still do various training exercises.

What sort of core strengthening and balance exercises do you do SmokeyBear?
I've looked at the FitPaws equipment just out of interest but they're not the cheapest!

In the week Jess gets about two 30-45 minute walks, one in the morning, one in the evening. On weekends, depending how busy we are, she'll get a 30 minute walk in the morning and a 1-2hour walk at the local park in the afternoon. Jessie's collar, lead and harness are all Red Dingo - they're very strong and the lead is comfy to hold all with nice designs

We exercise once a day, for about an hour. We walk them on leash down to a local community field to free run, then walk back home again. On the weekends we take them for longer walks, to the beach, mountains or forest normally. We also do training & scent games during the day and have a large garden where they enjoy running around playing with all the other dogs

Always out twice a day here. Roughly an hour each time but the morning shift is often longer as we enjoy ourselves and just keep going! There's a hundred and one directions to go in and lots of parks and playing fields too so it's not boring at all. After four and a half years of dog owning I'm still finding new roads, lanes and green spaces, unbelievable! But then I suppose we cover everywhere within a three mile radius from the house and the urban area is a lot bigger than that so there's a lot to go on really.

During the week they get two shorter walks each day due to us working etc., but the walks are usually off lead so they get free running. On a weekend, we might only walk once a day, but our weekend walks are always a lot longer. We're usually out for a minimum of 2 hours (this applies if I'm off work too).
Our walks are usually along the same routes, but we have several variations that we can use to make it more interesting. Usually we go up to the school field where we can throw a ball for a while and the dogs get a good workout. On the way to the field they're off lead and get to explore in between trees, long grass and the river. Sometimes Pepper goes for a swim if the water is deep enough.
Charlotte, you should venture to Coatham Woods sometime. If I lived a little bit closer, you could walk with us lol.

I remember you mentioning Coatham woods and putting pictures up - it made me really jealous that I don't have somewhere like that nearby I keep thinking about going to Beamish in the summer but in not sure where in the grounds allow dogs I need to start adventuring farther afield, just if probably end up getting lost somewhere lol!

Weekdays they are walked once a day after work but on weekends walking regime is different and they usually get two long walks. However they are not walked when we go to training etc. Therefore in the week I could class them under the once a day or a few times a week (as training = no walk) but weekends we would be in the 2-3 walks category. At the end of the day I am just playing devils advocate!!
