Recently I bought Earl a KONG EXTREME, along with some large KONG treats to stuff his KONG with. Since his first encounter with a stuffed KONG, he has been entertained for ages!! Has anyone else got their dog a KONG???!!! I highly reccomend them!!!! Earl is kept busy with his stuffed KONG for maybe an hour or over, depending on how long it takes him to get the treat out. Sometimes it only takes him less time if I haven't shoved the treat in as well as I have done other times. KONG do a range of wonderful products - but the KONG ORIGINAL has impressed me most out of a lot of dog toys (along with the single Chuckit ball which goes along with the KONG on good product ratings on a personal level). How long does it take fellow KONG users dog's to get the treat out? How long does it entertain your dogs for??!

Around 2-5 minutes usually for it to be emptied.
Frozen lasts longer, 10 or 15 minutes on average unless its filled with raw meat, then it can take up to 30mins.
Oscar is a very experienced Kong destuffer. We used to have 2 but one went missing. He could do with a new one though.

Barley does not like his kong, he hates rubber toys becuase of the smell and texture of them, if he wants to destuff his kong someone has to hold it for him becuase he is lazy

Jess loves her Kong, we did put the Kong treats in it at first but she found them to hard to get out. Now we put peanut butter inside, she loves it! I think it takes her about 3-5 minutes to get it all out - we only really give it to her when we're going out.

Lazy boy!! Hhahaha! I have been meaning to buy Charlie Boy a KONG for a while now, I will get him one maybe next weekend if I can! I am saving up for a proper professional grooming kit with a DVD demonstrating how to groom a Westie correctly so I can start practicing with Charles and Romo (Roman) at home!

Well Amber quickly gets fed up of Kongs if she doesn't get any food out of them, she'll have a go for about three minutes and then gets bored. Bramble, on the other hand, never gives up! She is a champion de-stuffer She gets faster every day! I tend to freeze hers otherwise they last just a few seconds! Frozen they are about 5 minutes, 10 at most! It depends on whether she's in the mood as to how hard Holly will work at her kongs.

I think Earl takes longer to get his KONG treat out because I got him a KONG EXTREME which is tougher. It could be that, or maybe I'm just a good treat wedger-inner Our local pet shop owner 'pets corner' told us that the KONG paste was very messy and like a load of peanut butter everywhere! I assume frozen lasts longer and is less messy.

I fill them, but they only lick at them for 5 minutes before they are bored. I think they are just too hard for some dogs to get the fillings out.

I had to help Earl get his out this morning - he looked depressed that he couldn't get it out

It's strange because when Jess gets out her peanut butter it's actually not messy at all! We find it messier with a treat inside as she gets crumbs everywhere

I'm guessing you think the treats crumble, CC.
The peanut butter - do you give it frozen? This will not be as messy as if you give it fresh.

Yep BT, we use the Kong treats but half the time she whimpers as she can't get them out without our help! No we've never tried it frozen - that would be a good idea actually... It's always fresh so we can just do it quickly to keep her ammused. She is a very tidy eater but I'm guessing others with it fresh might make a mess
