They say thinks come in threes, well I'm now wondering what will be next today as it was Lexie's turn to be generous this afternoon (or at least that who I think it was). I went out for just over 2 hours & when I opened the front door this is what I was greeted with! P1010215_compressed by osiriscat, on Flickr Followed by looking in the living-room! P1010217_Compressed by osiriscat, on Flickr I'm sorry Mr. Blackbird The cats seem to think its my birthday with all the presents I'm getting - I wish they'd remember it isn't until the end of the year!

Oh dear must be a spring thing. My mum just text to say dad had to rescue a baby blackbird from their cat. Luckily baby was ok and now the early spring baby blackbirds have all fledged the nest and are making a right old noise in their garden.

Oh no, poor blackbird. It must be quite upsetting for you to come home to these findings, why can't cats just bring home a bunch of flowers lol.

Poor Mr Blackbird. Do your cats have bells on their collars? I feed a blackbird - have done so for 8 years now - not the same one mind. I have to strike a balance with the visiting cats and shoo off all cats when Mr and Mrs BB land. Your cats seem to think your not working hard enough.

Cia, Osiris & Lexie both have bells on their collar. Roman doesn't, he's had the same collar for years - its amazing he's only ever lost the ones I tried with a bell on! I thought he'd look nice in the collars, which he did, & changed his collar over, when he lost it I tried another but the same again. So he's back to the old one!

This is why I stopped leaving the window open for the cats. They now have to ask to go in or out. First came the dead birds. Then the dead shrews. Then the live mice and shrews. After hubby cut all the kitchen flooring up moving the fridge/freezer for the third time to get the scared shrew out we stopped the problem with no easy access. Now we just have dead creatures on the patio instead. Completely freaks the dog out, bless him!?!?!

Members of the old YC forum may well remember my posts about having to move a bookcase in the hall due to Osiris having brought in a live mouse. He's done it a few times, usually after we've gone to bed! He is definitely an April Fool cat as he just lets them go & wanders off!!! We've also cut up our kitchen floor moving the fridge/freezer but that was moving it back into place after we'd moved it out of the utility into the dining room due to a flood from the washing machine (even when it was off!) which was next to it & we need to let the engineer get at it & dry everything out. had to replace the fridge/freezer (the washing machine was fixed) as we damaged the feet & it couldn't stand upright properly any more!

Oh dear. Thats a lot of damage. Poor you. And it amazes me how small a gap mice and shrew can get under. One managed to get under the door even though it sticks on the carpet when you open it. Crazy!!
