scallywag, the Flickr logout is where I've always found it on the drop-donw menu from the rightmost icon at the top row of the flickr page. I don't have an avatar (buddy icon) so it's the default which looks like a purple circle with a multi-colour camera, with viewfinder sticking, up on it. I think that's where you are describing. Not sure where you found it before! The style of the dropdown menu has changed, however I do like one of the new information items on the menu - it tells you how many of your 1000 free photos you've used.

That's odd scallywag. I get the new display on the buddy icon next to cloud (uploadr) & bell (notifications) quite happily in Google Chrome. I'll try it in I.E. Tried it in IE 11 & that gives the result you are seeing but it also tells me when I load the webpage for Flickr that I'm using a browser that is not supported by Flickr. When I hover over the icons in that message it shows links to Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox & Microsoft Edge. On my Windows 10 laptop with Microsoft Edge it works fine, so I wonder which browser you're using (it looks like it could be a Microsoft one not sure if its IE or Edge)

Hello all! I've come for some advice again (you're all fab counselors ). So, I eventually got the courage to tell my parents about my intentions to do the zookeeping course. As expected, it didn't go down well at all. I've basically been told that if I do not do veterinary nursing in a veterinary clinic for 2 years after I graduate then I've to pay back all the money that they've "invested" in me for the last 4 years. Their arguments for not letting me to do it were nearly all fair to be honest. The main one is that I wont in the job I trained for and that I can't continue working for such little money. Initially they seemed okay with staying at the zoo and doing the course if I get paid right but that has since changed. My boss is aware of the situation but I've been in uni for the past 4 weeks and haven't been at work. So I'm at a crossroads and I really don't know what to do. - I could do what my parents want - quit the zoo and go in to nursing full time for 2 years and then go off and do what I want. But I really don't want to work full time in a practice because it isn't where I want to be or what I want to do.
- Or I could ignore my parents completely and stay at the zoo and do the course. I'd just have to deal with the aftermath of that.
- My other option is to try for the best of both and go part time veterinary and part time zoo
I'd prefer the last option but here lies another issue - My pay at the zoo. I make a scabby €40 a day. It's sh*t. And it's illegal but there isn't enough to pay us properly or so has always been claimed (in winter it is fairly true but summer less so). However, I can't continue to work for that little anymore as it isn't enough and I'm worth more. I work bloody hard for that place and haven't seen so much as a bonus in the 4 years I've been there. I'm there for the animals but it's tough sometimes. With summer approaching, there may be a chance of a pay rise - at least for me! I'm happy to keep quiet if she doesn't want the others to know, if they dont want to say anything to her and work for pennies that's fine! I don't know how long she'll be able to keep it up though(summer is busy-there's money coming in, winter less so). I am going to discuss this with the boss. My issue is that I can't just threaten to leave (or report her!) because she knows that I won't and certainly not without a back up job lined up. And, I honestly really don't want to leave but my parents are completely right, I cannot stay there on €40 a day. I am desperately trying to find a solution that works for everyone but it's proving harder and harder the more I think about it! So if anybody has any advice it's more than welcome! (encouraged, actually!!) P.S Thanks for getting this far, I realise that it's quite a read

One suggestion bextull could you argue that as a qualified vet nurse the zoo should pay you more as that could be offset by you being able to deal with some of the reasons they have to call a vet or pay one to bring their own assistant. I presume you will be qualified shortly or to get the qualification do you have to do a period of time in a vets practice? Is that the 2 years your parents are talking about? Of course there is a possible downside in that the zoo could ask you to deal with things you're not qualified to deal with on your own but that role should be made clear from the start. Another argument for more money from the zoo is that you doing the zookeeping course is to their benefit ((even while you're training) but you won't be able to do it if you don't get paid more. I hope others come up with some better ideas

I hope others come up with some better ideas I graduate in June and can go on the veterinary register a week after that so will be fully qualified. I think that my parents have picked 2 years just because the zookeeping course is supposed to be 2 years, there's no real reasoning behind it. I currently do most of the vet work at work. I even get medications for all the smalls/exotics from my old vet practice and then dose/treat the animals myself. Obviously for anything serious we do get the vet out but for the most part I'm the one telling him what to do as he's a traditional farm animal vet! I'll easilly be the most qualified person at the zoo if I stay (and I'm the most experienced out of all the keepers) so that alone should be enough to warrant proper pay! Even if I ended up having to pay for the course myself but got paid minimum wage I'd still be far better off. I do have a suggestion for my boss that would bring in an extra €100 minimum a day over summer (more than enough to pay me!). I know that she wont be fond of it as she wasn't in the past but regardless of what I want to be paid, she needs to find ways of getting in more money without raising admissions again if she wants to remain open!

I was sorting out some socks yesterday and when I was looking in my chest of drawers I found tucked underneath some paperwork - 5 x £10 notes!! old ones of course, but the banks will still change them. I think I must have put them there Christmas time - that's 2017 Christmas. That was a nice surprise.

Ah well, that £50 I found will come to good use after all - went to get in my car this morning and I had a flat tyre. Hubby was with me as he gets a lift down to the shop for the newspaper. He decided he'd take me to work and sort out my car after. So, back up the road to get his car keys, up around the corner to his garage and around the one-way system to where I was waiting for him. It's a nightmare having him drive me to work as he's not tolerant of rush hour traffic, he's so impatient. He will bring my car down to me later on when either the puncture is fixed or I have a new tyre, then he can drive us home and I can come back to work. I can't put up with him picking me up from work at 5pm!

It was a new tyre unfortunately scallywag. Cost was £45 and they didn't have any change from my £50 (they only take cash) so they got a £5 tip and won't get another one next time we go there for tyres. Like I said, there goes my £50. I was thinking of nice things I could buy with it and a tyre was not on my list.
