Thanks x x Kitchen roll...best change I ever made. Easy to maintain & you dont need to worry about them getting a mouthful of sand to go along with dinner. Its easy to remove the "toilet" area, clean & replace the kitchen roll. It may not be as natural looking or as "pretty" but does the job brilliant and I stick to non-coloured so looks like white sand and looks good matching everything

Hi Jade, If there's any tips or advice you need for your bearded dragon don't forget to visit www.yourbeardeddragon.co.uk - if you don't want to use sand then other alternatives can be carpet, newspaper or paper towels i.e Kitchen roll - much like what bubbles87 recommended! :-)

Ideally you'll want to avoid any loose and consumable substrate due to the health risk they carry. Slate, tile, reptile carpet, linoleum or kitchen towel make a better alternative.

I use office carpet tiles from homebase. £3 a tile, easy to cut to shape, only need two for a 4ft viv. Cheap to replace! lol
