Like Avansa said, Lyme disease is a horrible thing that isn't worth the risk. The breeder we got Monts and Woods from has it, and for years and years it ruined her life. She couldn't ride any more and she adores horses. She was left extremely weak and at risk of death from other illnesses! She didn't know she had it for a few months because it didn't show any symptoms. Anyway, don't underestimate them by any means. I am well aware of Lymes Disease, I've known 2 people with it, one was seriously ill for months and the other still suffers pain 6 years afterwards. What exactly am I meant to do about them, I can hardly move away to escape the risk? All I can do is take them out, but like I said, that doesn't bother me. I didn't mean to be funny, I just thought I'd mention it just in case you weren't fully aware. A lot of people aren't. As Avansa said, Autan has kept nanny safe for years and I really love the smell of it (and things like mosquitoes etc LOVE her usually.) Was just trying to be helpful.

Husband has never been touched by them, yet I completely cover up in the evening from neck to ankles, plus repellent Just thought I'd say, maybe you cover TOO well. Sometimes if they get trapped in clothing they bite bite bite, even with repellent. I don't wear too much on holiday (WAY too hot, even at night) and I use a lot of repellent and don't get many bites at all, though they usually love me. Last year I went without any for one night and had ten nice swollen itchy bites on each leg. They kept me up a few nights

Owch hope he's ok, I've never had one myself but expect I will one day. Worst one i ever had on the dogs was on side of enzos snout when he was a pup, he yelped so bad I felt awful. Always keep a tick remover In A wee first aid kit I got free from vets who came to training once, popped it in there and keep in in the car boot in the bag with the dogs towels and spare leads. And running gear. Also keep one at home just incase.they can be nasty wee buggers

migsy When I was on a Norfolk broads boating holiday one year with my parents (I was 16) they go bitten every night and I got away bite free until the last night. I had gotten the sun on my legs so put on some coco butter before bed, the next morning both my legs where covered in bites, there was hardly a space between them. I can still remember the pain of them now and how horrid they all looked. I've never seen my legs so swollen and bumpy!!

gladys; he has to have another blood test in a weeks time, then I'm guessing he will get results around a week or two later.I think the weather we have had must be suiting the ticks for breeding, nasty horrible things.
