Really glad to hear the vet is pleased with Jasper. The swimming will be good exercise as it takes the weight of the legs whilst still using the muscles.

We took Jasper to the vets for his third injection this evening, and I'm pleased to be able to say that Chris is really please with him. He said that people only usually see an improvement after the third one, Jasp IS using that leg more and the muscle if definitely building back up. He also said that Jasper can still go swimming as long as he walks into the water, not dives in. Even though Jasp still has a limp and stands like a tripod at times, its a massive step forward. YaY!!!! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pleased for you all. That's wonderful news and I hope the treatment and improvements continue. *doing a happy dance*

Well we took Jasper to the vets again tonight. He's now on monthly injections. Chris is still pleased with how well Jasp has responded to the treatment, he has another 3 monthly injections to go then it will be reduced to 6 monthly, then yearly. Jasper has responded so well that at times we almost forget he has an injury, especially when he's running and jumping round the living room as if it's his own personal obstacle course. That was the good part of the visit, but he was also naughty tonight too. First he cocked his leg up the wall, then he showed us up again when he was playing with a lovely staffi by going for it. We were so shocked by this as it's totally out of character. I can only think that as they were playing the staffi, who was a BIG boy jumped on top of Jasp and hurt him a bit.

I know what you mean about saving some, when it's his bedtime wee or first wee it seem to take for ages, but when out for a walk it's every half a dozen steps, lol.

Not up dated this thread for a while, but Jasper was back at the vets yesterday for his 6 monthly jab. Chris the vet is sooooooo pleased with how the treatment has worked that he is using Jasper as an example for the drug. I didn't take him the OH did, so not too sure of the wording proper. It seems that there's been a study of this drug and Jasper is the one to have the best response from it. (Sorry don't know the name of the drug.) The muscle in his leg that had wasted has now built up to normal strength again, so now there is no visible sign of an injury, so nobody would even know.
