Judy they are having critical care food at the moment. Toni they are eight weeks old, we may have to take two of them back tomorrow for another bag of water injected under their skin, the vet said to see how they go, they have eaten a little since coming back home so keeping everything crossed for them. They have a lot of catching up to do weight wise as they lost lots over three days. Taylor loves her babies, she has made the best of mums and is doing all she can to help them.

Hope they are OK tomorrow. Glad to hear they've picked up a bit after the vet visit today.

Sharon, how hard you work with your cats. I was only thinking of you and your kittens yesterday. Poor kittens to become ill from the hot weather. I hope that you find ways to keep them cool and that they all get better soon.

Another tip: 2. Move the air around. If you can afford to, then invest in an air conditioning unit (which can also act as a dehumidifier). If not, get a fan to create a cross-draft. If itβs unbearably hot then add a cold wet sheet between you and the fan or even a bucket of ice in front of the fan to further reduce the temperature. uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/hot-to-sleep-in-summer-hot-weather-heat-102959479.html

Hope you poor little kittens are ok, and getting used to this heat more, but I just read on the weather forecast, thunderstorms are predicted early next week. I don't mind it warm but I can't stand it hot like it is, never mind the animals.

All kittens have done really well today, we have moved them to the dining area of the kitchen where it is cooler but due to dangers of the kitchen they have had to be penned, obviously we allow them playtimes throughout the day when we sit with them and let them run round after we have blocked all little spaces so they don't run behind the washer, fridge etc. Yesterday we took them all to the vets and the vet said they were ten times better, two of them had to have more water injected under their skin and they have meds for their runny tums due to the heat. Today they are much much better, they have asked for food and eaten everything offered, no more diarrhoea, they are very vocal and extremely playful, they have also gained weight over the last few days and are now on the road to a full recovery. We are really pleased with them, they are little survivors and are doing great. The weather here has cooled down lots today too.

That's really good news. I was worried for them. There's a tortie kitten at the refuge who seems to be struggling. Mercifully the nights are cool now and there looks to be an end in sight to the hot weather. Thanks for the update, it's appreciated.

Offices are unbearable unless there's air con ditto with homes. One thing I'm grateful for as I'm no longer on London it's a little better up in Carlisle.

Oooo! Carlisle, at least it's not too far to go to the North Lakes for the day either. We're about an hours drive from the South Lakes in Preston.
