ohh I love your betta,i had a purple-ish male before but he just wasn't able for the other fish in my tank, they really need to kept alone really.Plecs, danios and platties are about all that last a good while in my tank .I had an obsession with guppies for a while and even had some babies. Now I have about 6 babies in a nursery which I think are platties

carcking fish I have 2 goldfish which have now been going for 15 years. One is now pure white as I stole his gold to pay for my bacon roll fixation Not sure what the actual life span of a common goldfish is but my 2 are hanging on for dear life and eating away at our savings sorry for the graininess....the tank is not in the best situated place for taking pictures

WoW is that with just a tank and filter? Do you add stuff to the water? My longest living fish were in a plastic tank with no filters when I was at school. I've never had much luck with fish and filters etc since so I gave up!!!

Just a tank and filter Gladys nothing added to the water except more water when it needs cleaning-they're old dudes right enough

Wow tingler 15 years!!! I thought my goldie was old, i will have had him for 6 years in two weeks. He was a birthday present from 2 of my friends on mt 10th birthday, I feel old now. I just realised today how easy they are compared to warm water fish. Mine has no filter just a air pump, I cleaned it out today. Just put the fish in a spare bowl, empty the water, wash the stones, warm up some water a little and refill. A lot more siphoning and filter pad cleaning with tropical, and for me they are so finicky.
