As some may have heard, I'm switching to raw once my 15kg dry food is done. I want to be able to portion my raw because my family look after the dogs if I have to go away, and they really hate the raw idea. So for my convenience too, I plan to use little portion freezer bags, by weighing out each dogs breakfast and dinner.
To do this, I'd have to defrost the food once it arrives (although I suspect it may already some partially defrosted as its travelling so far), pop it all into bags, label them and put them back in the freezer until I need them. Then I'd take out maybe 2 or 3 days worth of food and defrost them in the fridge as I need them.
I know with human meats this would be a no no, probably kill someone lol, but do you think this would be OK for dogs? What do you do with yours?

Our dogs have stuff that has been re-frozen, with no problems. Dogs bury bones for weeks on end and then eat them! So, yes, it's fine.

Thought it would be, but I thought I'd better ask, thank you

Yes, my friend's dog buries bones and them finds them again, then enjoys them with no harm!
Plus, dogs in the wild wouldn't have had owners to sort out their raw meals. They would have easily buried their food and left it for ages only to eat again once found. Our dogs may be domesticated now, but they are still dogs.

Psst you might get more help in the dog section. I thought you already tried raw and they didn't take to it, or am I mistaken?

Yes, I was thinking the same thing as judypops, SarahHound. I am a bit confused as to why you have posted about a dog related thing which should, in my eyes, belong in the Your Dog Health and Nutrition section, in the Your Cat General Cat section. You will benefit more in the dog area. People will look there about dog related threads. They wouldn't think to look in the cat section. I however, saw this and thought I had a suggestion, by simply looking at the title.
