Will do. I could take care of her better if she didn't attack me with her claws nearly everyday.

Oh daintipawz Would you recommend having a box for the kittens while shes still having others, to stop them being squished? Or should I just leave her be, Mam says she's done it enough she'll be fine but I can't help but worry. I'm so excited too, she keeps coming up to me to be petted.

Hi Judypops, we always get a box wide enough for Mum and kittens with enough room for mum to move around during labour/birth, if she doesn't mind you moving her kittens to another box whilst she has the rest it is a good idea, some cats stress if their kittens are removed, others wont bother and will just get on with the birthing and then welcome their kittens back when they have done.

Thanks I was just a bit worried about her rejecting them if we did. The whole thing is getting to me, I've been having dreams about kittens In last nights one she rejected a little ginger lad that she left behind when moving the others.

Might just be talking to myself here, but what the hell. We got a box for her but I think it's a tad small, she isn't too bothered with it, so I've put a towel in all the other beds, just in case. She seems pretty angsty tonight, pacing, really affectionate and looking longingly out the window but she doesn't want to go into the box. We are going to keep the boys out tonight, just to keep everything calm. (on their anniversary too ) All other doors will be closed so she only has the box and beds. ooooo, I'm nervous

No kittens She's eating a little, mainly the gravy from her food and picking at the dry food. She's liking the box now and is in it at the moment. The boys only have access to the sitting room through the deck door for water and to have a lie down, it's ridiculously hot today, I put ice cubes in their water Ps. gladys It might just be me but your tickers in your signature aren't showing, as is there is an error.

judypops yours and mine were not working when I read your thread so I think it was a general problem. They are all back again now though.

If you put some newspaper in the bottom of the box under the blanket or towel the mother cat will often start to shred it up as if making a nest when she is near to giving birth.
I can't wait - you must be really excited.

lotsofcats You have no idea how excited I am. We don't have any newspaper, we never get it. :/ She was lying on her side yesterday and I got a good look at her nipples, quite swollen and pink.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that you shouldn't let Mrs. Woman out for a while after the birth as a cat comes into heat again and can get pregnant straight away after giving birth!! Do you have a Cats Protection League in your area? If you phone them and explain that you have taken in a stray and need a voucher for getting her spayed and might be able to help find homes for the kittens. They will leave a voucher at the vets for you. You can get her spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old when you find homes for them.

Thank god you reminded me I completely forgot!! Not sure about the CPL but I will have a look. Better than paying at least €60 to have her spayed.
