I can't believe it was 10 years ago today (19/02/2012) that this 2 & half year old calico cat called Lexie! was delivered to us by her previous owner - sorry servant! She didn't seem to miss her previous home although we definitely had a few issues initially as people, who have been on this forum from the start plus the old Your Cat forum, will remember I still call her Trouble & Little Madam on occasion plus Supervisor as she has to see what's going on! Despite all her faults, especially the trying to steal the food I'm eating of my plate or from my hand or the other cats' food I wouldn't be with out her although I'm not sure Roman & Osiris would agree, Roman gets pestered too much & Osiris liking of her has definitely not improved. A typical Lexie pose (note you can just see Roman - he eventually had enough & left the comfortable cushion to her! :- Lexie typical pose 20211129_131749 by osiriscat, on Flickr Guarding the xmas tree or was it the (empty) cheese box or just waiting for me to go to play with the tree decorations sorry her toys!!!!!! Twelve years have now gone by (apologies for missing your 11th anniversary Lexie!) since our little madam joined us. At 14.5 years old age (& probably arthritis) may have slowed her down a bit but she is still as demanding & feisty as she always has been. She has always loved the warmth & now is spending more time against the radiator or in one of covered beds than going out into the sunshine, mind you it is a bit cold at the moment! . She's spending more time laying on me these days as well (she's laying on my leg with head on the edge of the laptop as I type this ), though that might be she has no Roman to pester & she leaves the new boys alone, except when it comes to food time when she & Stevie have the occasional raised paw (him) & hiss (her) whilst waiting for me to prepare & deliver their food, not sure what started this but its been a few months & both are guilty of initiating it. Shady keeps well out of it. I've recently seen Lexie & Shady playing chase/hide & seek, something she never did with Roman, Osiris or Penny, mind you its something the 2 boys do but they often escalate it to play (?) fight, luckily that doesn't happen with Lexie. She still tries to steal my food, breakfast & evening meal are safe as all 3 are shut in their room with their food but lunch or snack are considered fair game, at least the boys wait on the floor patiently, she's on the sofa (or its arm) with me with a paw waiting to swipe if she can. Or with her head/paw in the dregs of my soup mug, tomato based ones are a favourite! Not the best for cat with a white face & paw!!!. Despite all that the last 12 years with her have certainly been interesting & I wouldn't want to have missed any of them & the ones to come Happy gotcha day Lexie

Happy Gotcha Day Lexie. I remember her arrival so well and I know that you will never forget it tonib, she must have frightened you so much (and herself). She settled in well and is a lovely tortie. Nice that she plays with Stevie and Shady sometimes. I would have guessed that you've had her 8 years at the most, amazing that it's 12. Do you give her anything for her arthritis? I give my cats Johnsons 4 Joints liquid in their water.

Mind you, Willow is the naughtiest cat I've ever had - must be the tortie genes in her DNA.

Just find somewhere to put a litter tray in a quiet out of the way place & its relatively easy to clean scallywag Woukd have to be an indoor cat IF l went down that route , but โฆ l still think a dog is more company , not so illusive and independent ๐
