Glad she is home. Like spider says, she will work things out. What I suggest is to change blankets each day with Mikila's to get the cats used to each other's scent again.

Pleased all went well. Maybe best not to encourage her up on the bed ? In case she jumps down and her stitches open up ? Just a thought . Would she sleep in her crate ?

She really hates being in there right now. She does have multiple other beds around the room, her favourite one is in the closet with a hole for the cats to get in and out, but I opened it up because her cone wouldn’t let her in. Speaking of her cone. Does anyone know any alternatives that I could possibly make so she can eat easier when wearing it? The vet said I could take it off so she can eat under supervision, but even then the first thing she tries to do is pull her stitches.

I don't know if you can get them in Canada, but there is something called a Buster collar. You blow it up and it goes round her nick like the cone, but it's not as big.
Or could you get her a small baby grow to wear?

I feel your pain , Beau is a pampered boy he has always been allowed up on the bed. When he ruptured his cruciate ligament we had to manage to keep him safe and stop him going up stairs , jumping , etc. I spent 5 months sleeping on a blow up bed down stairs just to give him company, he didnt like his cone of shame , etc. A year later we went thru it all again on his other leg. Its hard but we have to put up with their tantrums for their own benefit and to make sure the good that we have tried to do , does not get undone , by a simple jump from wanting to get up or get down . Hope im not lecturing , its so easy to give in thinking our pets know best. We love them so much ! Beau wore trousers in the end to keep him away from his stitches , BUT his buster collar was on at night , no matter what. Hope she copes well , give her time to get used to it thou . HUGS X

It’s going good. I’ve been keeping an eye on her incision to make sure there’s no signs of infection or anything. And she figured out how to eat with her cone!

I remember those initial attempts (failures/successes) mistyanna when Roman was in the cage recovering from his cruciate ligament operation & wearing a cone. We found that a small bowl worked well as he could get the cone completely over it. water was the worst for mess!!! He even once sniffed his litter & managed to scoop some up inside the cone!!!
