I didn't realise that Lexie had problems in 2010. Hopefully the hernia will not cause any future trouble for her. At least you won't have the problem of butterflies until next summer.

The 2010 problems were with her previous owner lotsofcats so before whe was posted about on this or YC forum. When rehomed her in 2012 we knew she was on JWB as she could be food sensitive which we found to our cost when we tried her on Royal Canin dried (which Roman had) - mixed with JWB she was fine but 100% was a definite no-no! Stress also affected her - at one point we had her on Hills Z/D so JWB kibble only. We have subsequently tried one or two other wet foods. She loved Felix Sauce Sensations but started reacting to them so we reverted to JWB wet only. However recently I've been alternating the JWB pouches with RV Ultra Light (as the our vet recommended keeping her on a low fat diet when she was suspected of having pancreatitis/liver issues - all OK now) & that seems successful although she does hoover up the odd crumb from around Osiris's feeder (he is a mucky eater!) & she also tries to sneak moist from Roman by using her paw to grab from his bowl when he's eating! She's a little thief she tries that trick with my food as well!

It certainly is trial and error to find food to suit Lexie. The hard bit is stopping her eating the others food and also stopping them stealing hers.

lotsofcats, the feeders we have should stop the stealing as they only open for the specific cats microchip! However she's licking the dirty bowls when I take them out the feeder (except her's of course - that gets ignored) as they are stacked awaiting hand washing & also slipping her paw alongside Roman's head when he's eating! Or trying to get the food when I'm dishing it out or licking the empty pouches before they get to the bin!!! If I could get a photo of any of this then it would make a good entry into this month's comp. scallywag! but when doing the food I don't have the camera or a spare hand!!!

That would have made a brilliant entry for this month's comp.
