We have a local dinosaur!! A local man went to an auction and bid £1,600 on a life sized dinosaur from Dan yr Ogof Showcaves. The money was donated to a diabetes charity. The man then had the dinosaur put in his front garden and people are flocking to see it and to take selfies. Here's my son and the dinosaur, which is an allosaurus. on Flickr

Oh wow i love it. What a great idea - i wish it was in my neighbours garden. Your son is a good looking chap Jenny Thank you! He doesn't look like me or my hubby but is the image of hubby's late brother. Every time he goes to visit his nan she says she has a fright before she realises it's her grandson! He even talks the same way as his uncle did. When I go shopping on Saturday I'll have to do a detour to see the dinosaur. The local paper has printed the story about it today.

A good way to change the props at the caves & raise money. Well done to the local man who bought it at the auction. Great to see but not sure I'd want it in my garden, even though its probably large enough to take it! Great photo angle

The story was on the Welsh news last night. The dinosaur has been named Alan the allosaurus. I'm waiting for the local council to complain about it!

That's funny! Like you say, not as interesting as a dinosaur. Welcome back to the forum @gillykat.
