This is my favourite vet and he has seen Kai Ruki before, but not for 2 years. He is a Kiba-Khan fan. I laughed when he opened Kai Ruki's mouth to check his teeth and found he only has one left at the back!

Not going well. I left food out on Friday. I know the CPL lady didn't want me to. On Monday the food had gone. Gareth didn't leave any on Sunday so that was what the CPL lady preferred. I put the trap out yesterday but nothing at all. I left food out last night to see if the mother and kitten were still visiting but it was still there this morning. Trap is out now but no luck. I'll leave some food out tonight for them. Fingers crossed they will come back.

Hope the come back, and you can rescue them lotsofcats. Is the anymore new on Kiwi? I put food and milk out last night and it had gone this morning. I have put the trap out by our van parked in the corner as this is where the food has gone from. I had been putting the trap out by next door's container unit but flies keep laying eggs on the food by the end of the day so I end up throwing it out. I haven't phoned about Kiwi since Thursday, when the man who collected the kitten said it was eating well, but still wild! I know he/she was being taken to the vet yesterday for a check up. I will ring to ask later on today.

Update on Kiwi, who is a little boy and now called Silver as he is a silver tabby and white kitten. The vet said he is only 6/7 weeks old. He is now getting used to being handled and likes to have his tummy tickled. The cat rescue have a home for him to go to, a lady who has previously had a cat from them 10 years ago. I think he is one lucky kitten.
No food was eaten by the cat or kitten last night but I will put more out tonight. Gareth from work will pop up tonight with a torch to see if he can spot any of them.

Oh lucky Silver. I'm so glad he is getting on so well and you managed to get to him, so young! I hope the food that is being eaten is by the mother and kitten and not by rats.

No food eaten last night, so that's 2 nights now. I'll put some out for tonight and if that's still there when I come in on Monday, I think the cat and kitten have gone elsewhere. I really wanted to be able to save them so they could have a forever home.

Well, I think I have found out about the cat and kitten. I phoned the lady from the CPL to give her an update regarding the trap. She didn't reply so I left a message and another lady rang me back. Apparently, another company on the estate not too far from us had rung them about a mum cat and a litter of kittens and in the past couple of days they have trapped the mum and 3 kittens, 2 all black and one black with white. A man from next door last week said he thought the black kitten had white feet! I feel fairly confident that this is the same cat and kitten. The mum cat has now been spayed and released back in the same area as she is feral. The CPL have had the cat's ear nicked so that they know if they see the cat again that it has been spayed. The kittens will be socialised and offered up for adoption. I've just phoned the company and I think that Silver was from that litter. They said there was a grey one with white and he's grey tabby with white - they thought that he must have died as they hadn't seen him since last week. The mother cat is back there and they feed her. A happy ending, thank goodness.

lotsofcats, That's brilliant news but what a shame the 2 CPL ladies couldn't have communicated or put brains in gear to think you could be trying to trap the cats they'd already got and let you know!!! Good news on Kiwi Silver

Good news on Kiwi Silver I wouldn't have known anything if I hadn't phoned to give an update! Lucy from CPL is coming for the trap tomorrow. I will give her my box and a half of kitten food. I am going to do an eBay sale to raise a donation for the small pet rescue, Socelex, where Silver is at the moment.

Lucy from CPL has just collected the cat trap. She said the kittens are all doing well and starting to like being cuddled. It was 3 black kittens, not 2, and 1 black with white whiskers and a white moustache - she showed me a photo of that one, he's so cute. I told her about Silver and when I described him she said that was what the mum cat looked like. I'm just so pleased that all turned out well for the kittens. Shame that Silver was separated from his siblings, but at least he's got a good home to go to.

Forgot to mention that the CPL said that the mother cat was feral and I think she was just a stray - there's a big difference and I think they should have kept her for rehoming instead of spaying her and returning her to where they found her. When my work's colleague came in the night looking for the kitten and shone a torch under the work's van the mother cat was there. She stayed there and when Gareth opened a pouch of food she immediately knew what it was and came nearer for the food. She ate 3 pouches of food and she didn't hiss at him once. She was just wary and stayed under the van. I don't think that's the actions of a feral cat - that's a stray. I am a bit annoyed with the CPL over this. I'm going to ask the other pet rescue if they would consider taking the mother cat if we could ever catch her. I know the other company nearby said are feeding her but I'm thinking of the coming winter and how she will survive outside. I'll keep a cat box and food in work in anticipation.
